These are Peter Klien and Astrid Bartl. We work about 1 1⁄2 hectares of vineyards purely organically and press our wines as naturally as possible.
For all our wines, we only use grapes from our purely organic vineyards and, in addition to classic wines, we also press natural wines such as orange wines or pet-nat (bottle-fermented grape must).
In addition to single-variety wines, we also produce cuvees or a mixed set, using the following grape varieties:
-
Gelber Muskateller
-
Müller Thurgau
-
Grüner Veltliner
-
Riesling
-
Welschriesling
-
Pinot Noir

In addition to the wine, we also sell the Greek Fair Trade olive oil from our friend Stavros Spyreas from Mani, Peloponnese. Stavros harvests about 1500 liters of extra virgin olive oil a year from the Koroneiki olive variety.
The cold-pressed oil of the Koroneiki olive (Greek Koroneïki), also called “Queen of the Olives”, is very popular with gourmets due to its composition and taste and is one of the best olive oils in the world.
Due to the careful, manual harvest and the natural care of the up to 100 year old olive trees, we can enjoy a very harmonious and fruity olive oil.

For us, purely organic means not using any chemicals in our vineyards.
To do this, we use a plant strengthener made from around 50 different alpine herbs and rock flour, which is applied to the vines. This changes the surface structure of the grapes and leaves, causing the unwelcome fungal pathogens
can be held!
The soil in our vineyards is only mechanically loosened between the vines, so that a good supply of nutrients to the vines and thus the grapes is ensured.

When processing the wine, we try to treat the grapes as gently as possible. We can achieve this through
-
Transport of the grapes in small containers
-
Direct introduction from the containers into the vats/press
-
A slow, gentle pressing of the grapes
-
And using natural gradients to transport the must/wine
With all these measures, we are able to produce little turbidity right from the start, which means that fewer interventions are subsequently necessary for the wine.
In addition to all these activities, we have also been producing natural wines since 2016. These are wines that, in addition to spontaneous fermentation, are not subjected to fining and are only subject to natural filtration by gravity.

Would you like to taste our wines? You are welcome to visit us at any time, or we would be happy to come to your home or business.
The design of our labels, brochures, etc. was carried out by our neighbor and artist Alexandra Berlinger.
